 As Chief Investment Officer, Tom Hardin oversees all portfolio management and investment activity for Canterbury Investment Management. With more than 30 years of investment management experience. Tom is known for his creative investor education and revolutionary investment management process.
Tom has what may be the most diverse experience in the financial management industry today. After earning a bachelor's degree with a major in business from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, Tom received his certification in portfolio management from the renowned University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. In addition, he has earned the following designations:
- Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), 1982
- Certified Portfolio Manager through Hutton Portfolio Management, 1987
- Senior Portfolio Management Director, 1993
- Senior Investment Management Consultant, 1994
- Chartered Market Technician (CMT), 1997

Tom began his investment career in 1977 as a Registered Representative of a New York Stock Exchange firm. From 1982 through 1986, he served as Regional Director of EF Hutton's Personal Financial Management Department, where he directed the financial and investment planning efforts of 32 branch offices and worked with some of the firm's highest income and net worth clients. Before founding Canterbury, Tom served as Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Management Director of Smith Barney's Portfolio Management Group.
